چکیده
This paper reports on the ESPRIT project MELISSA (Methods and Tools for NaturalLanguage Interfacing with Standard Software Applications)1. MELISSA aims at developing the technology and tools enabling end users to interface with computer applications, using natural-language (NL), and to obtain a precompetitive product validated in selected enduser applications. This paper gives an overview of the approach to solving (NL) interfacing problem and outlines some of the methods and software components developed in the project.

This paper presents some recent enhancement to Bell Labs Speech Technology Integration Platform (BLSTIP), a common platform to integrate Bell Lab’s speech, telephony, Internet, and dialogue technologies for spoken and multi-modal dialogue system research and prototyping. Last year, we introduced BLSTIP to our partners as a speech technology platform for collaborative research and new applicatio...
متن کاملA Toolkit for Building Dependable and Extensible Home Networking Applications
Dependability and extensibility are two of the key requirements to successful home networking. In this paper, we describe the design and implementation of a software development toolkit for building dependable and extensible home networking applications. A reliable Soft-State Store (SSS) is implemented as a shared infrastructure to simplify robust distributed programming against device and obje...
